Has anyone been able to boot from a USB flash drive on a Gateway 75xx laptop (7510gx, 7508gx, etc)?

I've had success in the past on an HP laptop and a self-built desktop using the HP formatter utility to create a bootable USB flash drive. But my existing USB bootable flash drive isn't recognized by my 7508gx's BIOS, nor is another that I just created directly on the 7508gx. Has anyone had success with this?
