    I've had a P-6831FX for a little over a year. This thing is a beauty. Only problem I've ran into is with Media Center. It worked great for the first six months. However, it recently started crashing with this error;

    Problem Event Name: CLR20r3
    Problem Signature 01: ehshell.exe
    Problem Signature 02: 6.0.6000.16386
    Problem Signature 03: 4549b55e
    Problem Signature 04: mcstoredb
    Problem Signature 05: 6.0.6000.0
    Problem Signature 06: 4791a6e6
    Problem Signature 07: 117
    Problem Signature 08: 222
    Problem Signature 09: System.InvalidOperationException
    OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 1033

I've read all over the internet and I haven't been able to figure out how to fix my problem.
    Common fixes include:
    1) Using Aaron Stebner's .net framework removal tool and reinstalling .net. Tried it, failed to resolve issue.
    2) Creating a new User Account (associated with not having or losing permissions for ehshell.exe located in windows/ehome folder). I have been able to recover my rights, but this has not fixed the issue.
    3) Running a sfv /scannnow check to look for problems. I had no problems.

I am lost. I do not want to reinstall Vista just to reacquire permissions for MC. Any thoughts? I think the easiest fix would be to find out how to add full permissions to my Admin account for ehshell. However, it will not allow me.

I should mention that I am using a custom .inf with drivers from www.laptopvideo2go.com. Could this be the cause?

Resolved my issues and torrent'd the ehshell.exe file.

If anyone is interested in the error the resolution is to delete all the files in

    drive:\programdata\microsoft\ehome
