I went from a T5250 to a T7700, it worked great for a week now when I hit restart it dont restart it shuts off with a funny squeel noise coming from speakers, but when I put the T5250 back in it everything works fine.. I even cleared the cmos and it still dooes it with the T7700 in there. Does anyone know why it would due this? Please give me some ideas or details. Thanks so much..

Try update your BIOS to a newer version and see if that helps.

I did update bios and yes it is a used cpu its the SLAF7 any ideas?? I also tried a T2330 and that worked fine aswell.. Only happens when the T7700 is in there. Odd though when I put the T7700 in my other laptop it dont do that but the control panel wont open though.

Ok I figured out that it is the processor and not the mb or bios. Thanks for those of you who offered help. Keep up the good work!!
