I want to get a different CPU, a super fast one: don't care the price. Is it possible to replace this with a newer one? i7 maybe? Think not, I'm a newbie. What else do you need for the replacement. Thanks in advance guys!

I believe you can upgrade to any of the 800MHz FSB Core 2 Duos with the T9500 and X9000 being the best you can get. You will need thermal paste remover and thermal paste for the replacement. If you could upgrade to i7 or even Core 2 Quad that would be insane. Core 2 Quad has the possibility of working, but knowing Gateway, it probably doesn't.
