Has anyone with the same computer as mine (see specs in sig) ever run into a CPU fan issue? A few days ago the cpu fan has started to make a small chripping noise, I've cleaned it out with canned air monthly. I have a warranty at BB with it but I dont want to send it in, I'm worried they will wipe the HD and it's a pain putting everything back together again just the way I like it. In addition I installed another hard drive and upgraded the CPU, unsure if that would be an issue with BB warranty either. Hmmm any suggestions??

Best buy will not wipe the HD. If you were going to send it in I would put the stock CPU back in if you have it. I have sent in my 6860 for a GPU fan replacement and they did not wipe my HD.

becareful using canned air too -- dont want to over spin the fan -- that could of been cause to chirping. For something simple as fan i might check ebay for just the part. probably cheaper and a lot less hassle then being without your laptop ?

Yeah I would also try to fix it yourself if you don't want to be without you laptop for 3-4 weeks.

    Hey Andy
Instead of creating a whole new thread I just thought I would ask another question here, I've had the computer for over a year and the top (where the screen) is wobbly is there anyway to tighten it back up a little bit, i'm it's just normal wear and tear on my computer that loosened it up.

one of 2 things I can think of it might be strife103, hinges are loose and just need retightening or worn out hinges that would need replacement.
