    CPU: clock speed to performance ratio = 1:1?

    For example the T9900 (3.06GHz) is only about 35% more processing power than the P8400 but obviously costs way more. If the CPU were the bottleneck in video games, I imagine that this would make a big difference in frame rate, but in terms of real processing power, such as data compression, would the T9900 only be about 35% faster than the P8400? (not including other things taxing the CPU)

    CPU clock speed is not the only thing to consider, another important upgrade of the T9900 over the p8400 is the Cache being 6mb over 3mb which is double the amount. I own a T9900 and I'd say there has been an improvement over 35% in processing speeds (video compressing, decoding etc) over the old stock cpu in my Laptop. Also if you're into gaming you will see great improvements there as well, though not as big.
