I have been playing the CoD5 Beta on my 6860 and love it for the most part, But when i play on the map "makin" my fps goes down quite a bit, around 20-30 fps in some parts. On all other maps its fine, i average maybe 50-90 depending on what map, how many people, and where i am in the map. I have all my graphics to the max, but no AA or AF. I run it at 1440x900 (Native). Im using the newest drivers (180.43). Any idea on what is causing the 20 fps in Makin. I found it weird cuse the rest of the maps run great.

Hmmmm. I wonder if its just the CPU holding back the GPU. Anyone else have input?

I think most of it can be attributed to the nature of the map. Lots of shadows and overall just a lot of stuff going on.

Yall should upgrade your CPUs.. Everything runs so much smoother and cooler :) But as mentioned, its probably the nature of the map, which is causing problems.

enabling Physx usually lowers FPS by 1-2 fps because it takes the physx calculations from the cpu and directs it to the gpu, making the gpu do slightly more work.

Didn't really notice any slowdown on that map. Running max at native resolution 4xaa 16xaf. I'm using 178.13 drivers though.

You overclocked gpu and got a new cpu for your 6860 though right?
