I was just doing some reading on this game and I'm pumped. I'm not a hardcore gamer by any means, but the COD series (ww2 stuff) I really, really enjoyed.

How do you think this will run on the 7811 with native res? I'm guessing it'll be similar to that of Call of Duty 4 but I haven't played it on my laptop.

Any guesses? How about those with CoD4? How does it run for you?

    Thanks.

Please elaborate, one would figure with those specs it could play on high at rez and be fine?

    i run cod4 everything maxed.

i maxed everything on this and i get a ton of mouse lag and jumpiness. i see some small improvments when i drop the shadows and other graphic options. im not jumping to conclusions just yet though. i would like to see other fx user's reports.

Just got into the COD5 beta it is basically COD4 with new skins. No worries run it at constant 50-60 fps Max settings 4xaa 16xAF 1440x900.

That was my theory exactly - COD 4 with new new skins. Definitely not a knock since 4 was probably the most popular in the series. I just happen to enjoy the ww2 stuff more than modern warfare.

You definitely wont be disappointed. Looks like CoD4 on the surface and uses the same formula (perks...etc), but there is something different about the gameplay I cant quite put my finger on. Maybe It's the attack dogs... :D

because they have 6860's, not 7811's maybe??? 1440x900 is max resolution on the 6860s unless the screen is upgraded.

    oh that would explain it.

id rather have the 1440x900, 1920 is a little too much for a 17" screen IMO, plus, i cant run cod4 maxed :(

wierd. because i ran cod4 at 1920x1080 (hdtv, not computer monitor) at 25+ fps average depending on the action on screen.

i want to say it was high settings with no AA or AF, but its been so long since i've played it that way that i dont remember.

on another note, have you tried 1680x1050 resolution when playing games like cod4 or crysis? i do agree that 1920x1200 is a bit taxing on mobile gpu's, but if you dont mind lowering the resolution a little bit, it should help you obtain the settings you want and a high(er) resolution.

i tried playing cod4 at 1680x1050, i just couldnt stand it, the text was all fuzzy and the quality was crap, its like playing gamecube ona HD tv using composite cables. just horrible.

i ncan run it on my desktop with a q6600 and a 3850 maxed with 2AA very smoothly. should be able to max at 1440x900 when my laptop is fixed, although i will be getting it for PS3 if I do at all.
