Ok, so I just bought a Gateway MD7818u and the battery refuses to charge. It was fine for the first few days, but now it's acting strange. I plug it in and leave it for a few hours to charge (and the little charging light on the computer is even on/changing color) and then I unplug it and turn it on to use it, and it says the battery is at 0%. I don't understand. Is it the battery? The charger seems to be working fine, the little light on the power supply (or whatever it is) is on.

Can someone help??! I just want to charge the battery and not be attached to the wall! I'm very UNcomputer-savvy and I don't know what to do! Any advice would be really helpful.

    Thanks!

Are you sure the adapter is plugged in all the way? If that isn't the issue I would take the battery out and than try again, and if that still doesnt help if you just bought this computer I would take the battery back to where you got it and have them switch it out, could be a faulty battery.
