Is it possible to boot the recovery partition without using the gateway software in windows? I tried clicking F10 at start up and I only see options for the C:/, CD and LAN.

You can boot from CD driver, then use a software to make the hiden partition as the active one. When you reboot your computer after that, system will enter the recovery process automatically. I ever did it.

I'd make wherever I bought it provide them to me, or pay for me to have a CD sent from Gateway.
