I just purchased my laptop and now I'm trying to get the extended/ accidental coverage through Gateway. Whenever I enter my serial from my laptop it says it's invalid and won't let me proceed. Is it something I'm doing wrong?

You need to have bought it from Gateway to be able to get their warranty. If purchased from Bestbuy you cannot get a Gateway warranty; so just get a Bestbuy warranty.

You can get a warranty from Gateway, even if you have purchased from Gateway. I contacted Gateway through their Online Tech Support, and the rep gave me the phone number to their "Retail Warranty" department. He said they should cover On-Site repairs, which would be fantastic.

Correct...Gateway will gladly sell you an extended warranty. even from a retail store. They won't sell accidental.

Hey KGann, do you mean you can still get a warranty from Gateway even if you got the laptop from a retail store (i.e. Best Buy)? Your original post says that if you bought from Gateway, you can get an ext warranty; but what about purchasing from authorized retailers?
