Ok well I bought the game a few days ago and have been trying everything I know to get this game to install...When I run setup it errors out when it is loading the installshield and that is as far as I can get...I have tried system restore up to a month ago, uninstalled ALL my games, and even booted in safe mode and still nothing...I am running Visa 64 bit on my Gateway P-7811, all drives updated and no other problem playing/installing any other game...This is the error I get

An error (-5004 : 0x80070002) has occurred while running the setup
Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications
If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Bethesda Softworks

Then when I click details this is what is listed under that

    Error Code -5004 : 0x80070002
    Error Information
    >SetupDLL/SetupDLL.cpp (3085)
    PAPP:Fallout 3
    PGUID: 974c4b12-4d02-4879-85e0-61c95cc63e9e
    $11.0.0.28844

I have also tried the disc on my friends computer and I was able to install the game without any problems...Any help would be great because I am stumped...

I had a similar problem installing FEAR. After searching around I found some similar errors but they had different error numbers. Still, the solution that worked for them worked for me. The solution was to rename or delete C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\InstallShield\Professional, reboot, and retry the install.
