Capacitive Key RED LED not working on gateway NV58 NV5814U:

above the keyboard, the touch buttons, specifically the sound mute button. The actual button itself works, but no longer turns red when the function is on.

I contacted Gateway several times and they tell me it is a NON ISSUE.

I don't think it's that big of a deal, but being that I just bought the laptop 2 months ago, I think it is. they tell me I have to ship the laptop to gateway on my own dime, and do not guarentee it will even get fixed?

has anyone ever heard of the red lights not working on these? all the other ones work just fine. is it worth it to pack it up, send it, and be without my laptop for 2 weeks, or just forget about it.??

    thanks.

I'm not sure if you are still having this problem, but this just happened to me.
    Here's how to fix it:
    1.)Go to Device Management
    2.)Select the Keyboard tab
3.)Select Launch Manager and press Uninstall or Roll Back Driver.
    4.)If necessary, restart.
5.)Then go to the following directory:
    C:\OEM\Preload\Autorun\DRV\LaunchMgr\
    6.)Launch "setup.exe"
    7.)Restart if necessary
    8.)You're done!
For me, it worked instantly after install, and the mute button even started lighting up again!
