Wow thats pretty toasty . Are you playing games under the covers in bed ?
.
-
I make smores, while i game.
Laptop is setup on a table with nothing blocking the fans. Don't want to prop it up under the battery, cuz this thing needs to melt, so that it can get replaced for free -
Who is going to replace it? BB? I don't think you'll get anything in that price range from BB right now that will match the performance of the 6831... maybe the Asus, but it's no gateway FX.
-
definitely wait for the next fx model to be out and tested... don't toast it yet. if you really want a replacement just drop the **** thing... that's what i'm doing next year....
-
I know your temps are 95 and 97, but can't read what's actually on the screens... well I can barely make out the temps in HWMonitor. And I can't make out the text in the other window, except for the bold headings. Could you maybe just use the snipping tool and capture just those two windows next time?
-
BigHops... hahahhaha totally doing that. dropping a few elbows on it too while its down, just to make sure that it stays down. haha.
fiziks... ill try to capture those windows next time. didnt realize that some ppl would have a hard time seeing the numbers. -
If I change my screen res to 1024x768, I can read it

crystal clear

thanks. just wanted to show off that HIGH SCORE OF 99C. I saw another kid that had above 100C. guess i need to play it in ecuador underneath the covers to beat that. forget 3dmark06 scores lol
-
Just hold the laptop on its side..someone else recommended that with the 7811.. Id assume this one works too

wow... i've never even seen some of your min temps on my machine. It looks like your stress testing it on a couch.
Its probably due a nice through cleaning. Pop the back open and kill those dust bunnies -
Its been on my table for the past month.
I went and opened up the CPU/wifi/ram bay and blew it out with a fan from both directions in2out out2in. That thing thats above the cpu like some flat pipe is connected to this silver box. Makes me thinks its the cpu cooler cuz it blow air out the back. it is black, like its burnt, and was wondering if that also is problem, before it was fully silver.
i tried to take the laptop apart, but it seems to be stuck somewhere, so i screwed everything back together.
then i use the blow dryer for the gpu fan in2out and out2in.
I also thoroughly cleaned the table top that i put my laptop on.
At start up I turned hwmonitor and got the following temps...

Hey...BigHops323, I have the same laptop and have been having major issues with it. Have you ever had a problem with unexpected reboots. It seems to do it wgen any type of video or streaming going on. GateWay had it 3 times and haven't found the problem. Thy are telling me to send it back for repairs for the 4th time. I only had it for 16 days (brand new) before it started acting up. They also refuse to give me a replacement. They have it apprx 4 wks at a time. This sucks
WastedTracy -
WastedTracy. Do this
1. clean install Vista + Any SP
2. Tweak Vista Blackviper
3. Install Gateway Drivers (Bios Update *Optional)
4. Windows Update
5. Nvidia Control Panel>Performance
6. Battery indicator>High Performance -
Your GPU Temp is nothing compare to mine. Mine was running at 110 all the time until it clocked down to 0 and go back up to 110 less than 5 seconds, again and again. It's running without heatsink.
-
Why would you run without a heatsink? It's there for a reason. That may be why you've fried two video cards!
Chew on these Numbers
