This is NOT my main HDD that came with the laptop,it is my second hdd, my second HDD is a WD Scorpio 160 GB that I took out of a WD Passport enclosure, it has been clicking ever since I bought it (6 months ago)

I have run CHKDSK D: /F /R twice and it found 0 bad sectors

    Defragmented at least ten times

Whenever the drive is under heavy load ( installing or defragging) its perfectly silent and right now I am copy files from it at 40 MB/s.

It clicks randomly and also it clicks when I go deeper into its file system.

Are the heads hitting the spindle or is it just parking the heads a lot like I've heard WD HDD's do.

Before you ask, I have everything on it backed up.

Should I pull out the drive or just leave it?

ALL hard drives park their R/W heads, not just Western Digitals. Some models are just more audible than others.

And yes, thats probably what it is. No, you shouldn't replace it. Its probably fine if CHKDSK came up with no bad sectors or anything.
