    Hi guys,

Just now I noticed a faint whirring/clicking noise coming from the left side of my P-7801. Specifically, it seems to be coming from somewhere near the heat exhaust port thing next to the left-side USB ports.

It happens mainly when doing anything graphically intensive and it appears to be correlated with the hyperactive fan (the one everyone has that comes to life every 5 minutes). When the fan spins up, the clicking starts, and when it stops, the clicking stops shortly thereafter.

Just wondering if maybe something got stuck in the moving parts and is causing the clicking?

I don't overclock anything and have not had freezes or lockups due to overheating.

    Any thoughts/similar incidences?

Have you tried cleaning out the fan... you might have gotten something sucked up into the vent and is interfering with the fan working

    Thanks for the reply.

I've tried using a can of compressed air on the exhaust vent and the underside vents on the left side of the laptop and the clicking still happens.

Is there any other way to clean it without voiding the warranty?
