Hi, Im planning to buy a laptop under the $700 US, this model is rigth now available on bestbuy for 600 dolars. This Gateway worth that money? how about his built quality or is better to go with the Acer AS5610-4537?? or maybe with a refurbished laptop?

Thanks in advance for all your coments

I got the MT6451 for 699. I think its still that price. I like it, its a good budget notebook and I haven't had any issues with it at all.

    Laptop Review
***A look inside the Gateway MT6705***
A Replacement for my MT3705 ..which sadly passed away,
apparently the Screen will shatter when knocked off Kitchen island by my 2-yr old Daughter

    - Retail model offered at Best Buy.
    - Price pointed at $599.99
    - Dual core Intel T2060 Family
    - Embraces the Release of Windows Vista Premium
    - This model comes Stock with 1 GB DDR2 ram
    - Can display the Aero GUI ...eye Candy for Windows
    - 120 SATA GB HD , I get about 93GBS (even after i uninstall all the useless pre-installed Garbage)
    - 1280x 980 Intel 945GM Express Chipset
    - WXGA widescreen TFT-LCD with (expected high Resolutions for a 15.1 widescreen)
other MT models like MT3705 by Gateway offer ATI 200 express or equivalent
    - Does have S-video which is on Left side, and VGA which is located in the rear
( unlike MT3705, MT6705 has the screw mounts to lock into place the cable for External VGA monitor/HDTV.
    - Has Firewire 1394 port
    - PCMIA slot( I use an Audigy Z for Surround sound)
    - 4-in-1 digital media reader
    - 4 usb ports 2.0
    - 6 lbs, its like carrying a gallon of milk every where you go
    - Lithium Battery (i get about 2hrs in high performance mode stay close to an outlet)
the ac Adapter is odd, must press firmly into the Hole, and the tip is L- Shaped so it must always be turned sideways
    - Multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support
    - The chasis where the palm of your hands will rest as you type are made of Aircraft grade aluminum
Aestitcally pleasing and feels very sturdy
    - flex Keyboard, which i happen to love, anything with more pressure resistance would be an actual typewriter
    - TouchPAd has a neat scroll feature for the side bars to navigate up and down
a page no matter where the mouse cursor is
    - Heat is routed to disperse on the left side of Laptop, yes there is still heat on the bottom
( this thing gets warm, on a summer day it will fry your lap)
    - Blue LCDs shows Wireless Connectivity and hard drive processes are a nice touch
(also will blink in unison with a purple light indicating its charging
    - mic and headphoneJack located in the front (for once Designers thought of the user...)
    - Speakers arent Bad, High Definition 2 Channel... I have heard alot worse...

Vista really isnt that Bad ...And I do like this MT6705 model , based on features, Price, and personal use...
