    hi folks,

is there any way i can connect the spdif headphonejack of my 7811 to the logitech x 540? I read something with toslink and so forth. What knda cables would i need to do that. The x 540 has only 3 analogue inputs.
    Anyway to pull that off?

you must have a sound card that has an optical-out port in you case SPDIF port.

I have Sound Blaster Xi-Fi Xtreme Audio Notebook. With this sound card you can connect you speakers with your laptop.

The 7811 has an S/PDIF port built into the headphone socket but it will only output 2 channel stereo if you are using the onboard sound processing chip. However more to the point your speakers don't even have a digital input, either optical or RCA, so your best option is to run standard analogue stereo, jack plug to jack plug, and use the upmixer in your speakers to create sudo 5.1.
