Other than a custom one, i guess the Zalman and the NZXT are usually the most used by FX owners (that i've seen on the forum)

I'm not sure how well they will do on your lap though.

The Zalman isnt going to be very good on your lap. I have it and from my experience the fans are going to be obstructed by your legs. Im not sure about others tho

Cryo LX is your best bet. They ship with an ac/dc adapter now to so you can get the best results from it.

Hmm, this is close, because i kinda like the zalman better, but it looks like the cryo covers the vents better, but the zalman is also cheaper xD

Can i get an owner of the NC2000 and FX laptop to tell me the coverage of the back vents?

If you go the extra mile and pimp out the Cryo LX with better fans eg. Antec TriCool/Scythe S-flex (and run it at 12v using a external AC adapter), I'd say the LX wins hands down. I had to do this, more out of necessity, than fun and i must say the CFM output is markedly better. It pretty much cools (when fans have been replaced) the entire base of the p7805u much like the Zalman.

Not too sure if the Zalman fans can be run at 12v.

The NZXT Cryo LX is one of the best out there, I would recommend this for you.

I don't have that problem.. The fans are offset purposely so 1 will suck up air from in between your legs and the other will suck up air from the side (Since we are using the cooler backwards) of ur right leg, provided you have room there, which I do.

My P7801+ZalmanNC2000 runs just as cool on my lap as it does on my desk.

Well I dont like the design of the ZalmanNV2000, and yes I have it, Im using it right now. The fans are up higher on the cooler while the vents are down at the bottom. So basically the fans blow strait up at the solid area of the cooler, and air slowly drifts towards the vent. I dont know if this design is over my head but it seems dumb to me

Its not going to make a difference. The fans job is to build pressure inside, so the air is forced up and out through the vents. I have modified my NC2000 to ONLY push up air by the CPU/GPU and another very small vent. Since the rest has been blocked off, this further increases the pressure on the inside and more air will go to the CPU and GPU faster. The air will always move to the path with the lease resistance/or most vaccuum.
