I think the facts need to be stated surrounding cooling ANY type of notebook..coolers aside

    1. Room temperature - HUGE factor in the temps that your laptops components will run at.

    2. Putting 2-3 inches of air under your laptop - I personally stacked 8 quarters and duct taped them and put them under each or the back rubber grips. This lifted the 7805u (in my case) a few inches off the ground thus creating much more fresh air for the fans to suck up and cool (rather than the few millimeters if it was sitting directly on its rubber grips).

My temps went from: (this is MAX temp during hrs of gaming)
(Sitting on desk, no lift - room temp 83 degrees)
    CPU's - 56
    GPU - 86
HDD - not affected either way

    to

(lifted on quarters - room at 78 degrees)
    CPU's - 49
    GPU - 73
HDD - not affected either way

Just wanted to share what some (prolly most) already know, but this post is primarily for the newbies whom ask how to make their laptop run cooler..without purchasing a cooler.

The best things in life come at no cost...and just take a little common sense! :p

I agree, I bought rubber sticky nubs and stuck them to my cooler in return raised the laptop up 3/4's of an inch, more air flow the better..

i stick the end of tv remote under the laptop in the middle :) centered it so it doesn't wobble.

So with my nice new lower temps for the CPU's (49) and GPU (73), I noticed that the HD temp still has not changed (it may have even got hotter! Not by much though maybe 3 degrees) My HD runs around 50 degrees and 56 maxed. Yikes! I dont think there is sufficient cooling to these HD's (obviously no heat sink) but also NO vent of air access...Think I should maybe try to lift up the front as well?

A better more permanent solution with less hassle is just to buy rubber feet to stick to the bottom of your computer. I stuck four half inch round rubber feet on my 7805u. They are stuck on extremely well and I've transported my laptop for several weeks now without any sign of them coming off. That being said, I removed one on purpose and to place it on a different spot and it left no residue on the computer as well. I noticed that the HDD opening sits almost flush with the surface of my table without the feet, with the feet they are a little cooler but still not ideal... Thinking about adding copper fins or adding ventilation to the cover, but I won't do that until my warranty runs out.
