Is there anyone I can manually turn it on since I think It's not turning on when it suppose to, especially when smoke from the PCU sounds the fire alarm.
Exaggerating, but it's getting pretty hot, hotter than usual. I'm not hearing the fan.
Any suggestions?

Take it in for a look at by a local computer shop, or call Gateway. Unfortunately, there is no way to manually turn on the fan, at least that I'm aware of.

Centrino Hardware Control should give you direct control over the fan. But if you're still under warranty and can go without it for a while, send it back to Gateway for repair, since there could be a more serious issue at hand (fan could be broken, there could be a CPU/CPUID maltfunction, etc.).
My review-unit S-7700N got a little warm after extended use, but never anything I would call "hot."
Also, could you use MobileMeter to get your CPU temerpature and post that here? -
45* celcius
35* celcius on HDD -
That's when idling? That's a little high, but nothing to be too worried about. And if that's under load, then I want to know how cold you keep your house.
-
yeah, that's idle temperature.
I'm going to try to run a game for about 2 hours, and see if it spikes to 6000* fahrenheit. -
60* celciusn during video games, now I'm not sure-- but isn't this a little high?

bump, temperature went up to 70* celcius, if I'm not mistaken, this is what I cook scramble eggs on.
