So, when you buy that brand new fx laptop (or any laptop) what is the ideal way to charge/discharge it.

From what I understand, when you first take it out of the box, you discharge it completely on battery life, then charge it fully while it's off. Then discharge it AGAIN on battery life, charge it fully while it's off, and then use it normally.

Is this right? Or are there more technicalities behind it?

Constantly fully discharging and charging is a bad idea.

Take a look at the Battery Guide here on NBR. You'll find your answer there.

..there is also a section in your P6831 owners manual you might want to check out.

Helpful guide. So I guess fully discharging straight out of the box isn't the best idea, only once every 30 partial discharges. Thanks guys.
