Crashing

I just got a p173x-fxx and immediately downloaded a copy of bioshock. It ran but after a little while into the game the screen went black and the computer had shut down. I then updated the game to version 1.1 and now it freezes and doesn't load. I figured ok ill see if its a problem with the computer of is it that i need to buy the game. I updated my drivers based on the thread here. I then downloaded the crysis demo and after a little while the computer just shut off. Both times when I rebooted it gave me the option to start windows normally or safe mode etc b/c it had failed/whatever. So when I started it up the resi was lower, I was able to fix it, but I thought that might be relevant. Anyway does anyone have any ideas?

 

first make sure you are not blocking the air intakes on the bottom of the notebook. download cpuid hwmonitor and monitor your temps while gaming.

 

Ill try cleaning my desk because there is a lot of crap that may be blocking stuff.

 

well i just cleaned off my desk and the fans stopped running so i think that may be it.
