How many fps would I expect to gain in Crysis if I upgraded my laptop to a x7800 overclocked to 3 Ghz?
Right now I'm getting anywhere between 15 and 30 fps with the lvl 3 ccc mod.
I want my min to be 25. Would this cpu do that?
And how hot would this be expected to run?
And when just web browsing would this use anymore power then make stock cpu?

I doubt it, if your playing at a higher resolution, then you will see almost no performance difference, if your at a lower resolution then you may/should see an increase in fps

I'm playing at 1440 by 900. I consider this to be low. Do you?

Thund3rball I dont know, I'm guessing
Here's an idea of how CPU scaling is in Crysis. I would say you will definitely see an improvement from your T5550 at lower resolutions but not so much at hi-res (as said above).

I got about a 4-7 fps increase at medium resolution with the stated CPU.

What settings were you playing the game at and what resolution is medium for you?

i play crysis on a 6831 with a t8300 maxed at 1440X900 in DX10 mode. i dont even have to overclock the gpu. the game looks so much better at maxed then at medium, i am using the 185 drivers and those help alot too.

you will get 3-5 more I think.
Crysis performance boost with new cpu?
