I just had Direct TV hooked up yesterday and with DIRECTV2PC you can watch pre-recorded programs on your computer which is very cool when I'm in the bedroom anyways I ran the playback advisor and it says that everything passes but the network adapter which is a wireless WiFi Link 5100 could use upgrading.

This is what Direct TV says:

    * What type network cards do I need to play DTCP-IP content on my computer?

You must have a network card to play DTCP-IP content.
It is recommended that you have one of the follwoing network cards in on your computer in order to play DTCP-IP content.
Ethernet cards: 100M Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet
Wireless network cards: IEEE 802.11a, IEEE 802.11g, IEEE 802.11n

So my question is anyone else running DIRECTV2PC with the P-7805u? Do I need to buy an external wireless adapter/card to be able to use this feature?

The 5100 is not the best 802.11n wifi card out there, but it more than meets the requirements for DirectTV2PC. While it won't give 300mb/s speed, it will easily give over 160mb/s. 802.11g is 54mb/s....

What connect speed do you get on yours?

I am not sure, how do I check?

Now for some reason I have no idea where to download the program, the only thing I can find is the Playback Advisor.

I have this working from my DVR. I changed my 5100 to a 5300 than to 5350 just recently. Works great. I also just record to blue ray anything I want. I would have to look into yours a little more.

Right-click the WiFi icon in the toolbar
    Click "Network and Sharing Center"
    Click "View Status"
"Speed" will be about half-way down the window.

Isn't the slingblade pretty expensive? It would be cheaper to just use the DIRECTV2PC although I have no idea where to download it from, I can't find it.

That takes me to the link to download the playback advisor which I have run several times. I have no idea where the program is to actually watch tv on my computer from it.
