    DVD burner...

    It stopped working yesterday after burning a cd. It couldn't read/write cds, and after that, dvds. It only keeps making scratchy noises. I still can see the drive itself in the explorer though. Did everything experts and gateway support team told me to. Nothing worked.
    So I went to bestbuy to get a replacement. When a geek squad employee tested it, though, it worked like a charm! Then I went back home and inserted a cd without installing/changing anything...the laptop couldn't read it.
    what the **** is going on?!?!
