Hi, first of all, say hello to everybody as I am new here.

I have recently bought a refurbhised 7805u, because Gateway doesn't sell those laptops in Spain, where I actually live. Till now, It is working quite good, CPU is good, GPU is awesome (I am making some CUDA research and it is what I want the laptop for), but I am having some problems with the DVD-RW. I usually work under linux, more exactly Ubuntu 9.04 at this moment, and I haven't been able to write any CD-R or DVD-R. Does it have any factory fault or is it just the Linux driver? It is annoying having to use an external DVD-RW having an integrated one.

Also about the BIOS, is 9c.12.00 the last one?

Sorry for asking those questions if they already have been asked, but the serach button doesn't work for me, maybe I need some more activity at the forum.

    Thanks!

PS: Overall, this is a great laptop!
