    Hi All.

I was debating on getting a P-172, but they're only available from Gateway directly and I hate taking chances with dead pixels. The sales rep could not tell me what percent of people get dead /stuck pixels and like many places there's no zero dead pixel policy.

    So my question is:

What is your own and your perceived experience (from listening to others) with Gateway's laptop screens? What's your estimation of the % of their screens having zero dead/stuck pixels?

    thanks,

    - Frank

    Hi.

1 out of 3 of my laptops had 2 hot pixels, but they only appeared 2 weeks after i received the laptop.

    I sent it back.

    Regards

    John.

I agree with this. If it is not obvious then what is the problem? Looking for it would only depress me if I found it. If it isnt bothering you dont worry!

Part of my work will involve reading medical scans on the computer, so having a good screen (free of dead or stuck pixels) is actually important. While one might reasonably argue it'll never result in a big enough dot to cause a misdiagnosis, I'd still find it annoying.

I'd actually be interested in hearing from those of you who had a perfect screen too. That might help me gauge how prevalent the problem is or is not.

BTW, did I read correctly-- the screens are Samsung?
