I tried burning a data dvd using ridata and smart buy dvd-r with 2x and 4x speed, but all of them came out with read errors when I am checking it with nero, is my burner dead or is there a way to update the firmware to fix this?

usually read error section XXXXX-XXXXX. I check with the nero cd/dvd software and it also said some files are unreadable.
