Asks someone you know (and trust) that lives in the US to get it for you, that's what he meant.

Well if you like, and if you still want to do it. I would be willing to ship it to you. I am not a scammer, and have no interest on the laptop i have my own and make over 100k a year, PM for my phone number and we can set something up.

P.S. I am not looking for hand out. As long as you pay for everything i'll take my time and take it to the post office.

@ ThePhantomGnome, even IF Papi4baby ships it to you, what's the point!? I mean if something happens to the laptop, what are you gonna do about it? The company doesn't officially recognize your country!

Gateway has a UK office ?? Then why wouldn't they ship to UK in the first place ? Isn't it a US only company ?

I'm taking a look at it now. Don't they ship to UK from that site ?

EDIT: Guess they don't have the FX series ? In which case, how would you expect them to perform repairs without parts ?

    upto about £1,700
i really like the Gateway one though
also looking at the Sager through Novatech but the gateway one has more upgradability options (2nd HD option) unless with the sager you can upgrade the GPU (which is unlikly) and would cost unless, excluding sending it back if it broke, but thats IF it broke.

If you're ready to get a gateway from the US, why not a Sager? Try www.xoticpc.com for really good rates!
And yeah, the Sager is a lot more customizable and upgradeable (I think)..
I know the maximum size of the hard disk shown in the customizer is 250GB 5400RPM, but this Clevo M570RU (that I'm talking about), the Sager NP5793 can take a 320GB 5400RPM drive... So I'm getting it by a special request I made, and the reseller XoticPC is ready to give it, since Sager is officially ready to provide me with it. 320GB should still be fine for you, non ?
Oh and Sager and XoticPC has way better ratings @ resellerratings.com than Gateway ;)

i looked at xoticpc before and it seemed really expensive, about the HD the gateway can use 2 HD's correct?

will look at xoticpc again though just in case, the sager configuered came to £1,182.06 or $2349.34, do xoticpc deliver to UK

while the Gateway® P-171X FX Edition would be something like £1,311.76 with everything TAX and Delivery.

arent they both the same in wha they can upgrade only

    HD
    DVD drive
    CPU?
    nothing else, right?

    where else could i look?
that accpept Paypal or debit card payments?

The sager's GPU is well, upgradeable to some extent.
    Xoticpc delivers to the UK.

Way better reseller ratings is also partially due to the fact that Gateway sells far more laptops than Sager/xoticpc. As well as lower quality budget laptops. I'm not saying Gateway is better, just that its reseller ratings are also affected by volume and product range.

i heard that the GPU in the sager can be change to three different models the 8800m, 8700m and another one which i cant quite remember but if i get a laptop that has a 8800m in it upgrading it to another would be a downgrade as i can only get the 8700m and the one i cant remember, can it any of the 9000 series?

Ah, I see. The sager originally could fit the 8700 and 7950. It required some modification to be used with the 8800. 8800 enabled 5790s are the 5792/3 models. That's why I said it's upgradeable to some extent.

I don't think it's known if they upgradeable to the 9XXX series, but it's possible, but some updating might be required.

Read this thread to get a better idea.

Check with gateway UK if it's covered by the warranty first. If it is, you search for a way to get the FX in the UK.

Don't forget that if you intend to buy from Xoticpc, you WILL have to send it back to the US if you intend to use the warranty. That's a hassle some people are unwilling to undergo.
