Hi guys sorry for posting in a Notebook forum but this is the only gateway help forum i can find. I figure my pc is sort of like a notebook.

I have a problem with my Gateway GZ7220 a All in one PC and hopefully somone where can help me out. This computer is killing me..Here's the problem

I was working on my computer one day and all of a sudden the screen gets these blocky looking designs that show up. Then all of a sudden it says my IR driver is corrupted so then I go to turn off my driver for that device. I reset my computer and its working fine. 5 minutes later those blocks show up again. The thing is they only show up on the windows that I open. for example, i'll be on a AIM window they'll only show up on the AIM window then I'll close it they'll stick on my desktop. Then as I open more programs they'll eventually fill up the screen.

So then I goto restart my computer thinking its a virus. Then I'll see lines running vertically in lines of 6 down the screen If it is a virus what is it doing on my load screen. Then I can't even get into the login screen because the load screens turns into a mess.

Now I go to turn on my computer and the screen is just black. The drives boot but no screen. Then from this point on when I try to restart the pc it just stays black. But my screen does come on fine when I leave it alone for awhile, then I can get back into my windows and everything then the whole blocky problem comes back and the pc turns to rebooting itself.

So far I have narrowed it down to 3 things.

    1) Hard drive but I had that recently replaced about 1 year ago

    2) Motherboard

    3) My LCD inverter board

Anyone know anything about this problem or had similar issues. Any help would be of greatness! thanks!

Do you have another video out port? Hook a monitor on it. If it works then you either have a bad inverter or screen. It is an inverter more than likely.

Just guessing and for what it's worth.

No i don't think there's another video output on the darn thing. It's those all in one PC's. Thanks though...
