I was simply trying to find a place to post a question: Did I buy a good computer? It is as follows: GATEWAY NV55S02U, 15.6" SCREEN, AMD QUAD-CORE A6-3400M PROCESSOR, 4GB MEMORY & 500GB HARD DRIVE, WINDOWS 7 HOME PRE AMD RAMDEON HD 6520G GRAPHICS, HD WEB CAM W/ MICROPHONE, INTEGRATED NUMERIC KEYPAD, WIRELESS N networking, GIGABIT ETHERNET (10/100/1000). I PURCHASED IT NEW FOR $399 REGULARLY $599. IF THERE IS A BETTER FORUM FOR THIS PLEASE LET ME KNOW. BUT IF YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS KIND OF COMPUTER WOULD YOU LET ME KNOW IF I DID OKAY OR NOT. THE ONLY THING WE USE IT FOR IS TO GET ONTO THE INTERNET, FACEBOOK, E-BAY...ECT AND OCCASIONALLY GO INTO WORD, TYPE A LETTER AND PRINT IT OUT AND THAT,S ABOUT IT. WE DO STAY ON THE COMPUTER A LOT SO I HOPE IT'S DURABLE. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR INPUT. i DID NOT PAY $112 FOR A 2 YEAR PROTECTION PLAN WHICH INCLUDES THEFT, POURING STUFF ON IT, DROPPING IT...SHOULD I GO BACK AND BUY THIS PLAN?

I think it is an OK purchase, the performance is not great, but it is cheap.
I never pay for such protection plans, my credit card provides similar protection. -
"Gateway support" is an oxymoron, I wish you luck.

Hardware wise his will more than suffice. Not familiar with the machine so I can't speak for quality or reliability.
In general if anything major is going to happen to hardware it happens in the first month or so. So long as you have a good 1 year standard warenty you should be fine. Just be carefull not to abuse it or get it stolen..........
Did I buy A Good Lap Top For Christmas????
