I just purchased a MX7515 and have been tweaking it a little. I have installed the Omega driver for the ATI Radeon X600. That was a great improvement over the original. Now I was wondering if anyone has found a better driver for the AMD 64 mobile athlon? I searched around AMD's site and a few others but was wondering if anyone has found something I overlooked. I dont really care if it takes more power as I will not be using my machine outside my home very often.
    Thanks for any advice!:amd64:

There's no drivers for the processor...but sometimes AMD has newer chipset drivers, if that's what you mean. Try searching AMD's support section for whatever chipset that laptop uses. If they have an updated driver, it'll be there and readily available.

What I am talking about is the Driver I found in add\remove programs. It is called the Athlon 64 processor driver. I am an average user and not real familiar with hardware. I found it simple to install the Omega drivers for the video card and thought I may be able to upgrade my processor driver as well. Thanks for your help. I will dig around AMD's site some. ;)

I am not sure if it is what you are talking about but there is a processor driver update on the Gateway support site along with a few other things.

It's the Powernow driver for the CPU, it makes the CPU change voltage and multiplier to reduce power consumption and heat....it most useful when running on batteries.
Other drivers should be for mobo chipset, no other drivers for CPU needed.

Thanks guys, I found that there are no other drivers other than those found on AMD's website. Infact all K8 class AMD cpu's share the same drivers, so there is no difference which you install.
