    read here

guide is for x86 but if you read the comments you'll find the x64 bits

mind you, sound is not balanced (one speaker stronger), hdmi sound is no go and the internal mic cant be enabled. the rest is fine.

Why would you? Go to XP or Vista 64 or both. More/better drivers and support.

My opinion if you run 32 bit no advantage to Vista ... unless on Vista drivers work better like P7811 sound. If running 64 bit use Vista for better driver development.

Cripes my sentence structure is becoming English as a second language. I have to stop reading these forums.

if the 6860fx is anything like the 7811fx when going to XP..save yourself the trouble. XP64 performed slower than vista64, and it also doesn't look as pretty as I remember it looking. Vista is so beautiful..*wooed* Ok, over dramtic there..but, vista is more visually appealing and seemed the better choice for myself.

Yeap. performance is about the same. no reason to go thru the hassle of finding drivers and such for xp 64.
