i would like to know if there are drivers for the express slot and if so, how do i identify under device manager. im not sure where its listed

im getting a lot of freezing issues when using my creative sound card. ive tried multiple drivers and it seems to freeze in game or when idling periodically. it may be just the sound card but i would like to try upgrading or reinstalling the express slots drivers

Don't think so, since it is probably within the chipset driver of the comp.

    cheers ...

Windows Update offers the following update option: Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Storage - Realtek USB 2.0 Card Reader, which I have installed.

Under device manager, there is an entry: Universal Serial Bus controllers -> Realtek USB 2.0 card reader. However, there is also:
Disk drives -> Generic- Multi Card USB device which lists an MS provided driver. In addition, there is an entry: Portable Devices -> Multi Card that has an MS driver. Both of the MS drivers are Vista SP2 versions, so I don't know if Windows Update will update these for SP1 users.

Yeah, I know that the ExpressCard is supposed to interface through the PCIe bus, but some ExpressCard hardware implementations use the USB controller.
