ForeceWare Version: 167.46
that is what it says when I go to my NVIDIA control panel.
I have installed the latest driver for the 32 bit vista from laptopvideo2go.com
While i play Call of Duty 4, for some reason, my FPS jumps very large ranges. It can range from 100+fps and drop down to 22fps...Is there something wrong with my laptop???
EDIT: I just looked through the Program settings..and i'm wondering, should i use iw3mp.exe or iw3sp.exe???
thanks in advance.
-
iw3mp.exe is for starting the multiplayer part of COD4, and iw3sp.exe is for the single player part. -
oh i see, but when i click the exe files, it goes to open (sorry i'm noob at comp. stuff)
EDIT: oh scorp, do you know what my foreceware says 167.46, but when i installed the latest laptopvideo2go.com driver??? -
Why are you using those files to try and start the game, the game should have placed 2 icons on your desktop for startup? It should have also created a programs folder.
-
yea when i installed cod4, theres a multiplayer icon, and a single player icon...
-
-
yes, i did.
-
Only thing I can think of is that you re-installed the 167.46 drivers again, by mistake, otherwise the new ones should be showing.
-
that might be the problem...thanks!
P.S.
i laugh at you. your wife won't give you back the laptop. LOL -
I can't seem to find how to uninstall the old 167.46 version....any advice?
-
In the control panel, under programs and features, should be one that says Nvidia Drivers.
-
Not sure where i saw a review i think here under the review links, and COD4 had issues with the newest driver from nvidia, infact it was performing better with the stock drivers from gateway, something to look for.
Drivers/FPS problem....
