I just got a 6860. I see people posting that they are using driver 174.74 from laptovideo2go however when I seach their Vista 64 driver section the latest version it shows is 169.12 dated 11/17/2007. What am I missing here?
Also, is the general consensus that 174.74 are the best right now. How are they on running WOW?

I ended up finding the vista64 drivers but having tried to force the driver update using the have disk method I have been unsuccessful getting the 174.74's working. I get the message this driver set dosen't support vista??
Could you give me a step by step so I can use the 174.74 drivers on my laptop. I went through the walkthrough over at laptopstogo but haven't had any success.
Thanks for any help. -

All I had to do was unzip the file...then copy the nvdisp file from the original_inf(s) zip . Then from the device driver do update driver and point to that nvdisp. -
which driver gives the best performance under Windows Vista 64bit? (without any problem)
-
I need help on how to install the laptopvideo2go drivers, I have tried everything, I am not used to having a problem like this , lol
-
These drivers are way easier to install, so I can't read most of the web page but it works great and no hoops to go through;

With the default, 167.46 driver I get around 7000 points in 3DMark06.
I tried almost every 174.XX driver (even the 175.12) and I had these problems:
a) driver installed without problem, but after reboot the default Vista 64 bit driver got loaded up instead of the installed one
b) I got low performance...best performance was with the 174.74 and it was 6740 points in 3Dmark06, but this is still -260 points compaired to the default 167.46.
Any1 know a 174.xx driver which can install on a P-6831FX (Vista 64 bit) and it gives the same (or better) performance as the default 167.46 Gateway driver? -
I can't get sh*t all for drivers to install under Vista 64bit.
ONLY the original Gateway drivers (or the ones from Windows Update).
I've tried everything, and I've never in all my years of laptop owning ever had a problem getting drivers installed.
I get "The Driver Sellected For This Device Does Not Support Windows Vista"..
And yes, it is a Vista Driver, Yes, it is 64bit, and YES, I've gone through all steps know to try to make ANY driver work, and they don't.
I'm about to give up on this and go back to 32-bit where I could at least get basic function out of the OS. (And this is why I love my iMac so much, none of this driver b.s.) -
-
Anyway I installed these too and got 6850 points in 3DMark06...still -150 compared to 167.46.
BUT! I installed this on a clean installed Windows Vista Business 64bit and my rundll stopped working in random times, so maybe this driver gives "good" performance (compared to the other 174.xx) but it is NOT STABLE. -
I used the above becuase it was a simple install, and if you play games it works great, benchmarking is great, but who cares when Crysis runs smooth
-
i can't get any of the drivers from that site to install, none. I'm running Vista 32, tried downloading multiple versions, installs them fine it seems, asks to restart computer, when it reboots, the driver isn't installed, the default windows video driver is used.
wtf is the problem here? -

-
Are you sure you downloaded the Vista 32 driver and Inf.? I've never had any problems installing video drivers. Which version are you installing?
-
I've tried all of them for Vista 32. I've used their drivers many times in the past for other laptops and never had this problem. Not sure wtf to do at this point.
-
Dozerking -I too have this problem, see my post on the first page near the top.
I'm still waiting to see what it could be......
