    Hi,

    This is my first post and hope that this site will fianaly put me at a halt when locating the exact steps and methods I would need to take to install Win. XP into my Gateway P-6831FX. and will I need to upgrade my ram inorder to install XP64bit?

    has anyone been successful in doing so

    You dont have to upgrade your memory for xp64, but you may have difficulty finding some drivers. All of the critical stuff should be covered though (video, sound, lan, wlan, RAID).

    It is a bit of work. Why not figure it out and post a guide here with your experiences.

    You can use the guide for installing XP 32-bit and just substitute the x64 drivers. The order of operations is the same.
