Does anyone know where to get some drivers for this 6518GZ laptop? I downloaded everything that I could from the support site. Now I have a question mark in the Device Manager for the PCI Device, and Bus System Device. The backup cd I created doesn't have the drivers for it. Gateway really sucks about drivers for their machines on the website. Well at least for the 6518GZ. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to anyone who has the answer. I'm sure most of you who own this machine have re-installed a new OS on it, and needed drivers from scratch. I hate that stupid back-up cd.

Nevermind. I managed to get everything working. Apparently the problem gets solved after installing XP SP2. I had originally installed XP SP1

I'm gonna blow my top if that's my problem.

Exact same controllers I couldn't find showed up in my device mgr. Tried everything.

Just went through the whole Restore process to put XP Home back on. Now, after reading this - that may have been my prob. I started Windows Update, but didn't finish when I noticed I didn't have those showing up under Dev Mgr. Should've went all way through and d/l Service Pack 2. Bet that would have fixed it. Well, here's to starting over.

Acutally if you happen to need the drivers they are now showing on the Gateway support site, just search for keyword 6518gz and they will all show up. :gateway:
