Has anyone been able to dual boot xp/vista64 with the FX 7805u?

I need XP for a old game I play.

i think people were having problem getting the sound to work in XP on these notebooks... there might be a solution or a work around at this point, but i wouldn't know i don't use XP anymore

if the game you're trying to play isn't too graphics or CPU intensive you might be able to get away with using XP in a virtual machine.

Virtualbox is a good one, and is free. might be worth a try if you can't figure out how to run XP on the thing....

Yes it's been done many times.

There are some doing XP 32 bit and Vista 64 bit, I originally had installed XP 32 bit and 7 64 bit. I'm just using XP by itself now, working great.

Sound is as easy as clicking a file. In about 5 seconds, I have sound.

I installed XP first, then installed Vista after. Works great without using programs like EasyBCD..
As for Xp sound is the only one I have to play with everytime I boot up but no big deal. I have many programs and games that only runs in XP..

EasyBCD makes it easier to edit the bootloader. You don't have to worry about corrupting it like you do when you manually edit the bootloader files (You don't want them to change priority). I used it to change the operating system display names and the response time. If you corrupt one of the bootloaders you will only be able to use the OS that you didn't corrupt, and then you will HAVE to use a program like EasyBCD or VistaBootPro to get your operating system back.

If only there was a VM machine that could emulate some kind of primitive 3D acceleration for Windows like there is for make everything would be perfect.

I know they are now taking to re releasing classic games for the PC (Quake Live) before I was trying to get Quake 3 to run fine under Vista 64 and couldn't. I had hoped to be able to install it on a VM to play it, but it would because of the above mentioned problem.
