I just changed my display set up from one 42in hdtv display, to two 32in hdtv displays on my 7805u. Both tv's are exactly the same LG tv. I have one connected via the HDMI port, and one through the vga port. When I first hooked both displays up and set up the resolutions, they both allowed me to pick 1920x1080. I applied the setting and it lasted like 30 seconds, then the resolution on the tv with the vga hook up reset itself to a lower resolution. After that Nvidia would no longer allow me to select 1920x1080 as the resolution for the screen hooked up through the vga port. I went in and created it as a custom resolution setting and tested it. It passed the test so I applied the resolution. Now the problem..... The freaking desktop on the VGA screen is squished. About 5 inches on the left side of the screen is not usable, and about a half inch on the right side is not usable. WTH?! The tv itself wont let me select "JUST SCAN" as the aspect ratio setting when its on the vga input. It will let me do it on an HDMI input though. When I select "Just Scan" it fits the desktop to my screen on the tv hooked up through the hdmi port. Cant do it on the VGA port tv though. Is this a problem with the tv? or Nvidia? I'm going crazy over here. Anyone have any ideas? :( I want to use the whole damn screen on both of these displays at a 1920x1080 resolution!

This is such a joke. I cant change the scaling on the tv or with Nvidia when its connected through a VGA port....

That's the way it always is. You'd think it would be able to output a 1920x1080 signal with black bars on the sides or w/e, but actually it outputs the resolution of the program and the TV/monitor handles the scaling.

Nvidia used to let you control the flat panel scaling. It doesnt anymore. It does let you set the desktop size but not if its connected through the vga port. Why is that? It seems pretty stupid to me.

For some reason the graphics card can only control the scaling through a digital signal and not an analog one.

You guys think if i buy a vga to hdmi converter box, my tv will let me choose the "just scan" option? It will be a digital signal then.

an hdmi splitter wont do the job. I want an extended desktop, not a clone.
