    Hey guys,

I have the gateway 6831fx. I am wondering if I get a HDMI DVI adapter and use my VGA port, if I can have a dual monitor set up? I already use my 22 inch monitor and my laptop screen, but I want to get a second 22inch monitor instead. Thanks

You know, thats a good question. I've sat here thinking of reasons as to why this would not work and I cant think of any. It seems to me like it would work just fine. I'm sure others will chime in as well.

i think i read somewhere around that a guy tried but could'nt
maybe he was trying to get 3 displays running not sure....

i reckon if you can disable using your notebook lcd you should be able to do it.

I've been able to get 2 to work as long as you disable the laptop screen and use just the two external monitors. What I wouldn't do for a quick solution for getting all three to work within windows w/o adding hardware or extra software. I tried with my HDTV (HDMI out) and my monitor (VGA) and I can only get it to work with two screens. Then I read somewhere that windows only supports two natively.
