I bought this laptop yesterday. It will not do anything but show the power light when I press the power button. Does anyone have any ideas? I have a M675 gateway that does the same thing except the fan comes on in that one. I have searched all over for an answer to the problem. I think it may be something simple, at least I hope so. Thanks for any assistance.

Try reseating the memory and hard drive. You didn't try to turn it on before buying?

I bought it for 70 dollars broken. It looks great, no signs of abuse. I tried to reseat the Ram and CPU and the Hard drive to no avail. I thought it would be an easy fix as I have fixed other laptops before. This particular one has me stumped. The reseating should have worked, but it did'nt.

    Thanks

one can start with installing what one believes is working ram, working cpu, working hard drive. check ur ac power output and make sure that it is still functioning with the correct voltage.

    cheers ...
