So all of a sudden, when I boot into windows, I get the following window with an error:

Windows host process (Rundll32) stopped working and was closed

A problem caused the application to stop working correctly. Windows will notify you if a solution is available.

So I don't know where it came from? I just installed a new processor (a T8300), but I wouldn't think that that is the problem! It's also had a Blu-ray drive installed last week, so I really don't know what it could be?

go in device manager and check to see that it in fact shows the t8300 for processor & not your old one.

and if all else fails... you can do a system restore a few days back to before you had the problem.

Is anything else crashing or is it just that one program?

Rundll32 is used to start startup programs such as the nVidia Driver Helper service and nVidia Control Panel. You can access all your startup programs by Windows key + R, type msconfig and then go to the startup tab.

It will probably be the nVidia entries so try upgrading your display drivers first. The old ones used to come up with the same error on mine sometimes.
