I realized after researching about cross compatibility between 54 and 34 expresscard products that there are two specs of express card...the USB2.0 or PCIe express card bus....I am wondering which bus is used in the P6860fx...USB or PCIe...I have noticed sometimes in some laptops, it would be reported as a USB expresscard bus when it is built into the laptop.

    Check this link
    http://www.expresscard.org/web/site/qa.jsp

I get the impression that, as both USB and PCIe are serial formats, both are supported in the same slot. The card manufacturer will determine which is used depending on the bandwidth requirements of the hardware.

From that, I would assume the 6860 supports both in the same slot.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

Yep the cards are coded to use either one but not both (obviously). Depends on how the manufacturer of the card set it up as to which bus is used.
