This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     ExpressCard slot problem

    I have not used this slot, thinking one day I will buy the Creative Lab X-Fi ExpressCard and use this slot.

    So today, suddenly out of the blue, the dummy plastic expresscard sprung open. Tried as I did, I cannot reinstall the dummy. The spring is working but there is no retention force for the dummy plastic.

    I assume that the retention mechanism is broken although even with a flashlight I cannot see anything broken.

    Does anybody, (may be BigMike) have any idea how to fix this. It's just annoying to have something broken and not be able to fix it.
