Well, I'm thinking about an extra hard drive for my lovely lap. I just found this internal hard drive: http://dealnews.com/Western-Digital...for-70-after-rebate-free-shipping/322058.html. It would be pretty cool to have it for my lap. I guess what I want to ask are:

    1. I'm not sure whether or not those two (the hard drive and the lap) fit together? Is that hard to install the hard drive?
    2. I have never purchased anything from zipzoomfly.com, so I'm quite concerned about the quality. What do you guys think?
    3. I'm also concerned about the heat. Maybe an external drive is a better choice?

    Thanks.

First off, that is a hard drive. Not a driver, a driver is something completely different. I would explain further but you don't seem very computer savvy and I don't want to confuse you.

When you say lap I assume you mean laptop.

No it will not fit, that is a full size 3.5" hard drive meant for desktops or an external enclosure.

If you want to look for another internal hard drive or a replacement for the internal hard drive in your 7811, you need to go to: ZipZoomFly --> Hardware --> Hard Drives --> Then choose "Mobile - 2.5in" from the Subcategory Menu in the top left corner.

Here is a 1TB mobile internal hard drive http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=10011294

HOWEVER, it states "A slight increase in overall drive height" in the product description, maybe someone can comment on whether or not this drive will fit.

I have never used zipzoomfly, although I know lots of others have and I'm sure someone can also comment on their experience.

Actually no 2.5in drives come in 2 heights 9.5mm which work fine in our computers and 12mm which will only fit if you take a sledge hammer to it.

The current 1TB drive is to large to fit into our systems

To Kamin_Majere: How do I distinguish between 9.5mm drives and 12mm drives? Among these items listed here, which one would fit my laptop?

P/s: Would you please change the title of the thread from "driver" to "drive" for me? Thanks.

FYI: ZipZoomFly is very reputable. I've ordered there several times with no problems.
