I have a 6860fx with the stock processor.

I downloaded the RE5 Benchmark application yesterday and was curious to check the FPS my system would manage.

I tried the VARIABLE Benchmark -
    DX10
    1280X720X32bit
    VSYNC - ON
    MOTION BLUR - ON
    AA - HIGHEST
TEXTURES - HIGH for ALL 3 options.

I tried about 10 iterations and got an avg of 29fps..Yah u may call me crazy for running the same thing over and over again..but for me, seeing a game run on my laptop even if I dont control it..is a joy in itself!

So did anyone else try it..? Please post specs , settings and fps.
BTW the graphics on RE5 look really nice even on my rather low-end Gateway!

    CHeers!

On the fixed, I scored 35.9 with the same settings as I did on the variable.

I prefered it 1920x1200 all HQ with no AA. I got 35 FPS on Variable. The demo was liquid smooth at these settings..............

All HQ, no AA , 1440X900 , DX10 gives me ~35 on variable.

Well Im getting a X7900 soon, just was wondering wat FPS I wld get with the new processor.

I hav heard ppl say a processor might not have much of a say for an FPS, but wld make more of a difference in an RTS..which kind of makes sense.

The CPU does make a difference where the non 3D programing is used. As an example I got about 9200 in 3DMark06 with the p8200 but with the p9600 I get 10400 and at 1028x800 I just pushed 11119..............

For the p7805 the p9600 is a nice ballance, although the t9900 just keeps calling my name. I swear I can hear my computer seductively whispering "just buy me big boy, you know you want too" every time I see that CPU on ebay............... :)
