Indeed, please translate. I'm not sure where that is located exactly on the P7811. I always thought it was right next to the wi-fi module lol...oh boy how wrong I was.

1st pic indicate that 8 pin connector can fit in 7811 Mini port.
the arrow means the first pin of the 8 pins should go with that direction

2nd showed the blue tooth mod from BORADCOM, used in Acer and HP laptops.

3rd pic indicate that you can stick that bluetooth mod at the arrow area.

for those of us lesser acquainted with the procedure of adding internal modules -

    1) is it ok to use the bcm92045nmd if it says its for acer and hp laptops? (I realize that our laptop is probably acer mothered even though branded as gateway)

    2) can the module be connected without that cable? if not, where can we get teh cable and will it be able to reside in the internal casing like that?

    1) According to the pics, you can use that module for the 7811 too.

Ack...you have to remove the palmrest...is it worth the hassle?

Has anybody successfuly gotten this mod to work? I'm trying to add the bluetooth module to the 7811 and it's not working out too well. I have 3 Broadcom 92045 module as well the same module in the previous posts. Everything is installed but none of the modules are recognized when installed.
I'm currently running Vista 64 on the 7811. Any thoughts?

are they recognized in the device manager? Have you tried the FN F6 combo to turn on bluetooth?

You might also need to check/set settings in BIOS once the module is installed.

wow, totally did not see the FN F6 combo. This worked and it recognized the module upon activation.
A note to others out there: the 8 pin connector that works is 1.1 cm in size. The HP cable with a 8 pin .9 cm connector will not work.
Also, you might be able to go with the Dell 370 mini pcie card instead of the bcm92045 but the 7811 only has 1 full mini pcie and 1 half mini pcie slot. You would have to find either a wireless card or bluetooth module that comes in the half size so that it would work.

Thanks custom90gt. I should have noticed that earlier.

You say the HP connector doesn't work, may I ask what the one you are using comes out of?

An old laptop had an issue as well as the bois tables did not auto reset. The way to trick the system was when you powered it on and bios was about to post press and hold the power button. This caused the bios post to fail so that on next power up the table reset and saw all hardware and assigned irq's etc.

I'd also like to thank zhengbob. I would have never been able to find the right part without his posts and pictures in this thread.

Awesome thanks, I had the module figured out but I wasn't sure where to get the right length cable, and wasn't aware of the pin difference until I was directed to this thread. I take it the one from Vivo comes with that shorty cable shown and its enough to reach the BT plug? I'd rather not have half a mile of cable looped around the laptop, so I might be willing to pay the premium for theirs vs buying a cable and module (you can buy them seperate for around 15 bucks it looks like)

That cable from vivo or any cable that matches that will work. It the perfect length from the port to the module location. If you can buy the cable separate then go for it. The cable is the only thing that matters cause you can find the module anywhere. Good luck, man.

There's really no way to screw it in, as I remember one of the two posts is for a screw to pass through to hold the laptop together and the other one is way too big to ever screw anything into, almost seems like there would have been a threaded insert or something if the laptop had BT. I just superglued mine to the little foam pad with a tiny dab. Once you put the laptop back together its squeezed in that spot as far as i can tell, it just needs something to hold it still while you reassemble.

the screws that were included in mine were way too short. the pad had a piece of sticky tape on it. just removed the tape and the module stuck to it just fine.

where is the Bluetooth Program at. I am installing tonight. Finally got both parts from China. Took about 10 days for each one.

I just need the BT Program now. Link would be great, or someone PM me.

    Thanks!

you don't need a program. once you boot your computer up, vista will recognize it and load it's own driver and program.. pretty simple and works good
