My mute key has the click noise also...I am guessing it has to do with the two halves rubbing against each other.

im having issues with the keys on the keyboard are not perfectly aligned. is that normal? also, the dvd drive when ejected doesn't feel too smooth. it feels like it's hitting something inside...

If you have any problems at all and things don't seem right, return it for a replacement to Best Buy as soon as possible. I don't know about the 7811 laptops, but my 6860 is "perfect". No issues with keys that aren't aligned, or don't feel right or anything like that. If I had an issue like that, I would have gotten it swapped out until I was satisfied. The only other recourse you have is to deal with it.

My media keys were kinda rough at first.. I figured it was just because it was new. They seem to be working a lot better now.

oh thanks again wtburnette, my apologies about the comment about the keys... seems to me that my uncle was talking about the print on them... some keys don't look too aligned... and by the way, as to my concern about the dvd drive, is it really supposed to be that way? a little bit flimsy? i mean as compared to lenovo notebooks.

Yeah.. most notebooks are flimsy. It's only when it's all the way out.. as you push it in it gets firmer..

    Wow that sounded weird.

Weird or not, you're correct... ;)

Yeah a lot of notebook optical drives are a little flimsy. As long as you use two hands and are cautious, it shouldn't be an issue.
